Matthew Rutledge Schaub was born on 25th June 1981 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Matt spent his high school years playing football, baseball and basketball at West Chester East High School in West Chester, Pennsylvania. In his senior year, Matt led the school team to Ches-Mont League championship.
Matt attended Virginia University in 1999. He started his college football career with the Virginia Cavaliers football team.
